Nathan McHenry

Civil Designer II

Mr. McHenry is a Civil Designer II at Qunity with over 43 years’ experience in municipal and utility maintenance, supervision, and contracting experience.  This experience ranges from project bidding to construction management, and utility maintenance, as well as initial utility structure design.

Mr. McHenry served as the Engineering Services Supervisor for the City of Durham Public Works Department. He oversaw the initial processes for utility improvements including petitions, extensions, and street acceptances. He retired from that position after 30 years of service with the City. During his tenure with the City he also served as the Assistant Superintendent of Water and Sewer Maintenance, in charge of a staff of over 125 employees,  as well as his initial position as an Engineering Technician wherein he was responsible for developing the Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Study program for the City.

After being discharged from the military and prior to beginning his career with the City, Mr. McHenry worked in the private sector for eight years developing and operating an underground utility television inspection program for BSM Pipe Cleaning.
