A Mission Beyond Concrete

In cities like Durham, infrastructure is more than concrete and asphalt—it is about connection, safety, and accessibility. The SW-100 Bond Sidewalk Repairs project epitomizes this mission. Funded by voter-approved general obligation bonds, this initiative is focused on fixing sidewalks and building new ones across the municipality. In turn, it improves walkability and mobility for all residents and visitors alike. At the heart of this effort is Qunity, providing expert Inspectors and Project Managers to ensure the work is completed on time, with precision and care, and with the community at the top of mind.

A Day in the Life of a Qunity Inspector

For SW-100, we invite you to step into the shoes of a Qunity Inspector—and discover a day that is anything but routine. From early morning site visits to late-day reporting, our inspectors serve as the eyes and ears of every sidewalk repair project we manage. They oversee contractor work, ensure compliance with the Public Right-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG), and use the City’s PDRX software to track progress and authorize payments. Whether they are checking the slope of a curb ramp or answering a resident’s question about driveway access, every detail matters. A day in the life of a Qunity Inspector reveals a dynamic blend of technical precision, clear communication, and a deep understanding of public infrastructure and accessibility.

Community Engagement

Beyond inspection, Qunity’s team plays a broader role, providing project management, ombudsman services, and neighborhood outreach—ensuring that every stakeholder, from city officials to local residents, stays informed and engaged. We help the City of Durham keep projects on schedule and within scope, while also responding to concerns and adapting to real-time conditions on the ground. Using tools like the City’s five-phase communications plan, we make sure the public understands what is happening, why it matters, and how it benefits their daily lives.

Looking Ahead

At its core, the SW-100 project is not just a sidewalk—it is a testament to building trust, enhancing quality of life, and investing in Durham’s future. Qunity is proud to support the City in this vital work, uniting engineering expertise, thoughtful planning, and a deep commitment to community. As we look ahead, we remain focused on delivering smart, sustainable solutions that leave a lasting impact, one step at a time.
