Del Webb Carolina Arbors is a 500 acre residential development that includes 1,250 single family units. Qunity was tasked with providing services for the land developer including approvals for zoning, annexation, future land use map, site plan, construction drawings, and all permitting through City of Durham, NCDOT, NCDENR, and all necessary approving authorities. Qunity held multiple neighborhood meetings to inform the local community about the project and receive input and answer questions.
The site design of this development included land planning, utility extensions, clubhouse and amenities center as well as an 8,000 SF Sales center and 40,000 SF community center. For the community center, Qunity was responsible for locating the building and coordinating the design of the parking lot to fit on the selected site within the development. Qunity submitted and received approval for the site plan and construction documents associated with the sales and community center and associated parking. The proposed greenway included designs for an asphalt trail, boardwalk system to minimize the impact along streams and wetlands as well as coordination with multiple pedestrian/bicycle bridge crossings over existing streams. In addition to the public greenway, Qunity designed smaller private community trails to connect the private development to the public trail system with ADA accessible routes. When construction starts on these trails in the Spring of 2016, Qunity will assist with Construction Administration.
